Signing of the Contract for Modernization of the sludge and biogas part of the Sewage Treatment Plant in Starachowice

On  April 12, 2018, at the head office of Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji in Starachowice, the ceremonial signing of the Contract by the Investor and Control Process EPC Environmental Protection 4 took place.

As part of the implementation of the Contract the sewage and biogas part of the Sewage Treatment Plant in Starachowice will be modernized. Modernization is aimed at improving the sludge management, with particular emphasis on reducing the amount of sludge, the development of which is one of the main components of operating costs.

As a result of the technologies and equipment used in the project (including, among others, centrifuges), the amount of sludge generated in the treatment plant will decrease. The second important element is the construction of a cogeneration unit, which as a result of biogas combustion (obtained through fermentation in ZKF tanks) will produce electricity as well as technological heat. Both elements will be used for own needs of the sewage treatment plant, which will also reduce the operating costs of the sewage treatment plant.

The termination of the Contract concluded between Control Process EPC Environmental Protection 4 and Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji Spółka z o.o. is planned until November 30, 2019.

Total project value is 22 mln PLN gross.
